One for the Memory Bank

The applause dies down and there's a split second of silence and anticipation. What will he sing next?
He takes off his signature black jacket, gives it a flick of the wrist and swirls it across the stage. Underneath he's wearing a shiny silver shirt and we all immediately think of Elvis, and know that we are witnessing another legend, which brings cheers and wolf whistles from the crowd.
Then the familiar rythm begins and the audience grows wild. In unison, fifteen thousand people leap to their feet. Looking to my right, I see my husband, my best friend, grinning wildly. 'Happy Anniversary!" he shouts and plants a big kiss on my cheek.
And then the first verse is over and we know the chorus is coming. Hands are in the air ready. Here it comes, here it comes.....

SWEET CAROLINE!
Do do do
GOOD TIMES NEVER SEEMED SO GOOD!
so good so good so good..

Pam - how wonderful. We are great fans of Neil Diamond, saw him at Birmingham NEC about 10 years ago and recently he performed at Glastonbury (not too far down the road from us - but we didn't go!). Apparently he said he enjoyed that experience so much he would like to do it again. He went a storm! And the sun shone on him! He is indeed a legend.

So pleased you were able to see him.

A x

Hi Em, SJA and Oma,
Yes, it was wonderful, despite his acute laryngitis. Some folks have demanded money back. He's issued a formal apology and said he'll make it up to Columbus. He has no need to apologise to give me - I still think he rocks!!!!
